Emanuel County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, retrieve an official booking record, or change a photograph. Those answers must come from the sheriff, police department, corrections agency, or court that holds the record.
Where an Official Answer Lives
Use the contact that matches the record, not simply the place where a story appeared. The newer county government contact page lists the sheriff’s office at 126 South Main Street. The jail is listed separately at 769 Kite Road. Office hours, dispatch, and jail hours differ.

For non-emergency dispatch, the county lists 478-237-0911 and 478-237-3928. Emergency calls go to 911. The older sheriff contact page uses 125 South Main Street and lists email addresses, so confirm the current route by phone before an in-person records visit.
Choose the Right Records Route
These links point to the office best placed to answer each question:
- For a current inmate, recent booking, older county booking, booking fields, or a missing jail photograph, use the county-wide search and records path, then contact the Sheriff’s Office or jail.
- For an active-warrants concern, read Wanted Fugitives and confirm with the sheriff or issuing court. The public display is not a complete live name search.
- For a news story, weekly Jail Report, or local outlet, use Arrest News, then match the story to the official jail record and court docket.
- For a Swainsboro police incident, call Swainsboro Police at 478-237-8967 or use its main contact route. For Twin City, call 478-763-4140 or City Hall at 478-763-2695.
- For Adrian, ask which county side handled the incident. The city lists 478-237-3928 for the Emanuel side and 478-864-4003 for the Johnson side. Adrian City Hall is at 304 West Main Street, 478-668-3376.
- For a sentenced state prisoner, use the Georgia Department of Corrections offender search and its current contact route.
- For federal custody, use the Bureau of Prisons locator. For eligible immigration detention, use the ICE locator. Neither is the Emanuel County booking feed.
The county clerk does not manage Sheriff’s Office and Jail records. A court disposition request should go to the court division shown by the case, not to the jail or this reference service.
Requesting a Jail Record
A useful Georgia Open Records request names the person, approximate booking date, arresting agency, case or warrant number if known, and the precise existing record sought. Ask for the booking sheet, charge and bond page, associated booking photograph, or maintained release record. Request electronic delivery and ask for an estimate before costs accrue.
The county’s Open Records page describes a three-business-day response rule and a general fee framework. That page also directs sheriff and jail requests to those offices rather than the county clerk. No fixed Emanuel booking-photo fee or guaranteed production time was posted. Ask the custodian to identify any exemption and release segregable material when possible.
A records request can obtain an intake record without answering what happened in court. Use the proper clerk for the disposition. A release from the roster is not the same as a case resolution.
